New Okta CTO Is A Former Google Executive

August 3, 2021

Okta recently announced that former Google executive Sagnik Nandy will serve as the new technology and CTO president, reporting directly to CEO Todd McKinnon.

Nandy spent 15 years at Google before joining Okta, where he was most recently Vice President of Engineering responsible for key parts of the advertising business. Prior to that, he held a number of other senior positions and helped build Google’s measurement and analytics products.

It also comes at a busy time for the cloud-based identity management company. During the first half of 2021, Okta expanded into new markets and accelerated its growth globally. In March, the company acquired Auth0 for $6.5 billion, accelerating its growth in the customer identity market.

In addition, Okta said that its cumulative addressable market grew from $55 billion to $80 billion after launching products in the markets for governance and privileged access.

Nandy is the second Google executive to join Okta. In July, the company hired John Zissimos, Google’s former vice president for creative, brand, media and consumer programming, as its first chief digital officer.
