Otter.ai partners Slack to provide AI-powered meeting assistant

August 18, 2023

Otter.ai, a speech-to-text transcription service, has announced a partnership with Slack to bring its AI-powered meeting assistant to the popular workplace chat app.

The integration will allow users to take notes, capture key takeaways, and assign action items during meetings, all within Slack. Otter will also send reminders before meetings and automatically share notes and summaries with participants after the meeting.

“Otter for Slack is the first step in unifying voice and text communication between meetings and Slack,” said Sam Liang, co-founder and CEO of Otter.ai. “This will provide conversation continuity among team members and help them stay on top of their work.”

Beyond transcription, Otter.ai introduces ingenious features that augment the entire meeting lifecycle. It also introduces Slack-based reminders to ensure punctuality, and real-time access to notes facilitates participation even for tardy attendees. During discussions, Otter.ai also captures salient points and condenses slide presentations, simplifying subsequent recaps.

The integration is currently in beta and is available to all Slack users.
