Private AI launches PrivateGPT

May 2, 2023

Private AI, a prominent developer of data privacy software solutions, has announced PrivateGPT, a new product that enables businesses to use OpenAI’s chatbot without jeopardizing their customers’ or workers’ privacy.

PrivateGPT is an artificial intelligence-powered solution that removes over 50 different categories of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from user prompts before submitting them to ChatGPT. To offer a smooth and secure user experience, the tool then re-populates the PII inside the response. Users can disable entities to give ChatGPT with the context it needs to answer a query, or they can disable privacy mode altogether if no sensitive information has to be filtered out.

Patricia Thaine, CEO and co-founder of Private AI, underlined the significance of data privacy, particularly when it comes to compliance with data protection legislation such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and CPPA. Thaine noted that when corporations exchange personal information with third-party organizations, they lose control over how their users’ personal data is maintained and utilized. This puts businesses at considerable risk of noncompliance.

PrivateGPT is now officially launched, and users can access a free demo at https://www.private-ai.com/privategpt/.
