PwC Survey Should Have Asked Developers Instead Of C-suite

July 6, 2021

The results of PwC’s U.S. Cloud Business Survey have proved controversial, with many questioning the decision to ask C-suite about the company’s cloud plans and results instead of asking developers.

Developers understand the detailed knowledge and the fundamental truth about how cloud (data center or any IT) evolves for an enterprise.

The survey found that 93% of CIOs surveyed felt responsible for the “Company-wide strategy and defining the business outcomes and value we expect.”

For the cloud, this remains a theory that is measured by the fact that much of the actual decision-making rests with developers and others responsible for bottom-up execution, even in situations where the C-suite sets a top-down strategy.
