Salesforce report says digitally mature nonprofits are more successful

November 11, 2022

According to the Salesforce Nonprofit Trends Report, companies that embrace technology regardless of size, revenue, or location have the strongest relationships and highest achievement rates.

Salesforce discovered that digitally mature nonprofits are more successful when they adapt, focus on retaining employees, and nurture a healthy environment. Nonprofits also want to invest more in improving their own technological skills. Cybersecurity, remote models, online donations, and hybrid events all focus on becoming more virtual and digitally mature.

According to Salesforce, “Agile organizations frequently use technology to surface insights and trends from data, which can then be shared among teams to enable faster decision-making.”

Salesforce also said that over the next 12 months, nonprofit organizations will prioritize cybersecurity and privacy (39%), new programs and services (27%), and remote work models (26%). Non-profit organizations are also thinking about online services to increase revenue and engagement.

A sizeable minority of non-profit organizations (46%) report making strategic decisions quickly. The organizations described by these agile non-profit organizations are tech adopters (51%), adaptive (51%), empowered (50%), forward-thinking (48%) and innovative (48%). These characteristics constitute a positive “change mindset” that positions non-profit organizations to follow strategic developments and become more resilient.
