Shopify Expands Shop Pay to Non-Shopify Retailers

June 16, 2021

Shopify announced Tuesday that Shop Pay will soon be available to all retailers that sell on Facebook, Instagram and Google, even if they don’t use Shopify to run their online business.

Shop Pay was previously limited to online stores operated by Shopify. However, integration with Facebook made the service available as a checkout option within Facebook Pay for Shopify vendors on Facebook and Instagram.

A similar deal was struck with Google in May to extend Shop Pay to the Google commerce system.

This week, Shopify continued to open the service and now allows merchants who are not Shopify to offer Shop Pay as a checkout option, similar to PayPal.

This makes the process even faster and easier as Shopify strives to be the best-in-class checkout for every consumer, retailer and platform.
