SMBs prioritize IT infrastructure and security spending

April 13, 2023

According to Analysys Mason survey, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are predicted to prioritize infrastructure, managed services, and security expenditure over the next five years as part of their push for corporate development.

The survey says economic concerns are lessening, and SMBs are likely to raise their IT expenditure by 5.4% this year, in line with Gartner’s projection of 5.5% growth in corporate spending.

These companies classified as SMB ordinarily have less than 1,000 workers and will steadily expand their technology spending in the next years, achieving 8.3% year on year growth by 2027.

Despite being smaller in size than major organizations, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are projected to face similar technological needs as employees and consumers want seamless digital capabilities regardless of company size. SMBs, on the other hand, confront particular hurdles in creating successful IT operations.

At the start of the pandemic, SMBs made significant investments in cloud technologies. Now, smaller-company tech executives are seeking to reap the rewards of these investments. SMBs are moving the majority of their infrastructure and cybersecurity workloads, including business apps, to the cloud. This has been a continuous trend in recent years.
