ChatGPT emerges as popular IT advice source for Americans

According to a recent Electric study, ChatGPT has become a preferred source of IT advice for Americans.

The poll of 1,000 people discovered that 66% of respondents used ChatGPT to solve their IT problems, a huge rise from just a year ago when most people depended on Google.

According to the poll, the most common IT-related enquiries in the United States involve simple difficulties like resolving a frozen computer screen, poor internet, slow computer, or an overheating phone. With 83%, Gen Z is the generation most likely to seek IT help through ChatGPT, followed by Millennials (67%). However, at 50% and 48%, respectively, Gen X and Baby Boomers are not far behind.

Electric asked 200 IT pros to vote on the top four IT questions. ChatGPT had an overall accuracy score of 39 out of 100, however certain inquiries, such as “How do I make my internet faster?” received substantially higher accuracy scores of up to 74%.

While artificial intelligence-generated chatbots may appear to be an unusual way to acquire IT help, professionals were invited to analyze ChatGPT’s replies to some of the most frequently searched tech inquiries in the United States. The AI chatbot gave accurate and useful replies, according to Electric’s research.
