New Dating App Features Help Users Find Vaccinated Matches

To speed up vaccinations, the White House recently announced that the country’s largest dating apps will introduce new features that will make it easier for vaccinated singles to find each other.

The variety of features will allow users to filter potential matches based on their vaccination status, as well as free access to premium features, some of which include “boosts,” “super likes” and “super swipes.”

After the drop in COVID-19 vaccinations in recent weeks, the plan to use dating apps is just one of the unorthodox methods officials across the country are considering to speed up the pace of vaccinations.

According to Andy Slavitt, senior White House adviser on the COVID-19 response, “Social distancing and dating were always a bit of a challenging combination. So today, dating sites like Bumble, Tinder, Hinge, Match, OKCupid, BLK, Chispa, Plenty of Fish, and Badoo are announcing a series of features to encourage vaccinations and help people meet people who have that universally attractive quality: they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19.”
