Buyer Of Jack Dorsey’s First Tweet NFT Won’t Sell After Series Of Low Bids

Malaysia-based Sina Estavi has announced he will not sell the NFT of Jack Dorsey’s first tweet after a series of low bids.

Last week, Estavi announced that the tweet is for sale on the NFT marketplace OpenSea. He noted that half of the proceeds (estimated to be $25m or more) will be donated to U.S. charity GiveDirectly.

However, low bids, with the highest value at $6,222.36, forced Estavi to declare that he “will not accept anyone’s offer.”

“Last year, when I paid for this NFT, very few people even heard the name NFT. Now I say this NFT is the Mona Lisa of the digital world. There is only one of that and it will never be the same. Years later, people will realize the value of this NFT. I think the value of this NFT is far greater than you can imagine, and whoever wants to buy it must be worthy,” said Estavi.

In 2021, Jack Dorsey auctioned his first tweet, which was first published in March 2006 for charity. Estavi paid $2.9 million and the NFT was sold to him on an online platform called Valuables.

Estavi received a digitally signed and verified certificate from Dorsey, as well as the metadata of the original tweet.
