Elon Musk reveals potential AI project involving Tesla and Twitter

Elon Musk is reportedly preparing to venture into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) after hinting that he might leverage technologies from both Tesla and Twitter for this endeavor.

During a Wall Street Journal event, Musk expressed the need for a strong competitor in the field of AI, and clamored for a third force after OpenAI and Google’s DeepMind. He hinted at a successful partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft and suggested the possibility of similar collaborations involving X.AI, Twitter, and Tesla.

Notably, Musk established X.AI Corp. as an AI startup last month, concurrently merging Twitter into X Corp. His vision for Twitter has consistently revolved around transforming it into an all-encompassing application, cryptically referred to as “X” in his online teasers.

Musk believes that AI has the ability to deliver plenty, but he is equally concerned about AI going down a bad road. He highlighted that there is a non-zero risk that AI would go the “Terminator” path. Musk believes that artificial intelligence (AI) will fundamentally change human activity in the near future, with automation affecting every field where even minor intelligence can be applied over the next 10 to 20 years.
