Generative AI transforms business applications market

Generative AI is transforming the business applications market, enabling organizations to build apps more quickly, efficiently, and with reduced reliance on traditional coding methods.

“Next-generation AI capabilities are fundamentally changing the business applications market for the first time in over 20 years,” said Charoo Singh, country head – business applications (India & South Asia) at Microsoft.

One way generative AI is transforming business applications is through low-code and no-code development platforms. For example, Microsoft Power Platform has integrated GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) into commercial applications, making it possible for anyone to build apps, regardless of their technical expertise.

“The integration of generative AI has dramatically increased the accessibility of low-code development,” Singh said.

Another way generative AI is transforming business applications is through Copilot, a new feature in Power Virtual Agents that provides AI-powered assistance to developers. With Copilot, developers can describe their solution in natural language and have Copilot build it in seconds.

“Copilot helps developers build solutions and provides suggestions for improvement,” Singh said.

Generative AI is also changing the landscape of software development by helping to supercharge developer productivity. For example, Microsoft is using AI to help more people access technology through low and no-code solutions with Power Platform.
