Ireland’s Health Service continues to suffer almost a month after a cyberattack.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) shut down all its IT systems following the attack.

The health service refused to pay the ransom, and Dublin’s High Court issued an injunction against Conti, the attackers, to prevent the criminals from passing on stolen data because they are not paid.

Since the attacks, the HSE has provided updates.

Since June 3, Ireland’s services are still experiencing “significant impacts and disruptions to services”.

Essential and urgent services such as COVID-19 vaccinations are still operating, but patients are being warned of possible delays and cancellations due to system problems.

Services such as blood tests and diagnostics take longer, as doctors and nurses rely on manual processes to avoid technical problems.

While efforts are being made to resolve all these issues, the HSE has said the disruption could continue over the next few weeks.
