PwC U.S. to invest $1 Billion in AI projects over next three years

PwC U.S. has announced plans to invest $1 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives over the next three years, which will help both clients and internal operations. This investment will also include training for PwC’s 65,000 workers.

PwC will engage with Microsoft and use the Azure OpenAI platform to develop products and solutions as part of its strategy. This collaboration will allow PwC to train models within a secure environment, addressing client concerns about the security of secret information while employing generative AI technologies. ChatGPT/GPT-4, an improved and more powerful version of OpenAI’s text generation engine, has been added to the Azure OpenAI set of services.

The investment by PwC is likely to result in a number of embedded AI advances as well as more visible applications akin as ChatGPT/GPT-4. The company is also working on developing AI tools with more data and decision transparency to guarantee that technology “properly considers human factors,” which is critical for garnering confidence in AI.
