Tim Cook Called Nancy Pelosi Warning Against Antitrust Bills

Faced with five antitrust laws that could end Big Tech monopoly, according to the New York Times Apple CEO Tim Cook personally called Speaker Nancy Pelosi to convey “a warning” that the hasty antitrust laws could disrupt the iPhone.

The news agency noted that “Executives, lobbyists, and more than a dozen think tanks and advocacy groups paid by tech companies have swarmed Capitol offices, called and emailed lawmakers and their staff members, and written letters arguing there will be dire consequences for the industry and the country if the ideas become law.”

Given their powerful influence, Big Tech is now relying on lobbying as a powerful weapon to thwart legislation and ensure that some inappropriate laws and regulations do not enter into force.
