The United States House Judiciary Committee will vote on Wednesday on a package of six antitrust laws, some of which target the market power of big tech companies.

While two of these bills will address the problem of giant companies such as Amazon and Alphabet Inc, Google’s parent company, the third bill will require a platform that refrains from any merger unless it can show that the merged entity does not compete with a product or service in which the platform is located.

The fourth bill will ensure that users can transfer their data elsewhere, including to a competing company, while the fifth will help to increase the budgets of antitrust watchdogs while ensuring that companies planning the largest mergers pay more.
