Uber’s Chief Technical Officer Steps Down

Uber’s chief technology officer Sukumar Rathnam is stepping down from his role as the company’s head of engineering, Business Insider reported. A spokesperson for the ride-hailing service also confirmed.

While the spokesperson refuses to say the reason for Rathnam’s departure, Business Insider’s report revealed that a growing dispute between Rathnam and the company’s chief product officer, Sundeep Jain, may also have been among the factors that prompted Rathnam’s eventual departure from the company.

A Uber spokesperson, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Rathnam plans to leave in early October, a year after joining the ride-hailing service.

Prior to joining Uber, Rathnam had worked for some of the world’s top tech companies, including Amazon and Microsoft.
