{"id":10656,"date":"2021-08-16T09:25:50","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T13:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technewsday.com\/?p=10656"},"modified":"2021-08-17T08:54:17","modified_gmt":"2021-08-17T12:54:17","slug":"t-mobile-investigates-customer-data-breach-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technewsday.com\/staging\/t-mobile-investigates-customer-data-breach-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"T-Mobile Investigates Customer Data Breach Claims"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>T-Mobile said it was investigating claims of a data breach posted in an online forum involving more than 100 million T-Mobile customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report published by Vice, the data included information such as Social Security numbers, phone numbers, names, physical addresses and driver&#8217;s license information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice&#8217;s report revealed that a hacker told the media outlet that data from more than 100 million users had been obtained from T-Mobile servers and that the hacker was demanding 6 bitcoin for a portion of the data containing 30 million social security numbers and driver&#8217;s licenses, while the rest of the data is said to be sold privately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A T-Mobile spokesman confirmed the incident and said: &#8220;We are aware of claims made in an underground forum and have been actively investigating their validity.
