{"id":12349,"date":"2021-09-20T16:44:13","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T20:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technewsday.com\/?p=12349"},"modified":"2021-09-21T15:07:11","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T19:07:11","slug":"verizon-increases-iphones-subsidies-to-match-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technewsday.com\/staging\/verizon-increases-iphones-subsidies-to-match-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Verizon Increases iPhones Subsidies to Match Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Verizon Communications is increasing its subsidies for Apple&#8217;s newly launched iPhone 13 in hopes of attracting more subscribers to the U.S. wireless carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Verizon is now offering redemption bonuses of up to $1,000, similar to rival AT&amp;T Inc, up from $700 previously, with the largest subsidies for customers trading in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple&#8217;s new iPhones start at $699, however, wireless carriers use huge subsidies as a tool to keep existing customers and gain new ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple phones will also have custom 5G antennas and radio components for faster speeds to boost 5G connectivity, a key race among telecom companies in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The iPhone 13 boasts an improved display, longer battery life and a Cinematic mode that automatically changes focus while recording videos.
