{"id":19573,"date":"2022-02-24T10:43:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T15:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technewsday.com\/?p=19573"},"modified":"2022-02-25T10:11:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T15:11:04","slug":"brazilian-researchers-web-platform-helps-identify-fake-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technewsday.com\/staging\/brazilian-researchers-web-platform-helps-identify-fake-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazilian Researchers&#8217; Web Platform Helps Identify Fake News"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Brazilian scientists have created a web platform to help people identify fake news online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform was created by researchers from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences Applied to Industry (CeMEAI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system uses statistical methods to analyze writing characteristics, including more commonly used grammar classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are then fed into a classifier based on machine learning that can distinguish fake news from real news in terms of language patterns, vocabulary and semantics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is then automatically derived if the content submitted on the platform is incorrect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get the platform to identify fake news, the researchers trained the models with a large number of databases of real and fake news.
