Glassdoor, a global leader in job and company insights, has announced the winners of its 15th annual Employees’ Choice Awards, which recognize the Best Places to Work 2023 in the United States and four other countries.<\/p>\n
The site where employees can review their employers anonymously did not include Meta or Apple in its top 100 list. Meta was ranked #47 last year, a significant drop from #11 in 2021. Similarly, Apple ranked #56 last year after ranking #31 in 2021.<\/p>\n
Daniel Zhao, a lead economist at Glassdoor, says Apple and Meta\u2019s absence from this year\u2019s list is \u201cpretty striking.\u201d \u201cApple has been on the list for the last 15 years, since the list\u2019s inception,\u201d Zhao tells CNBC Make It. \u201cAnd then Meta has been on the list since 2011, and it\u2019s actually been number one in the past \u2026 That\u2019s not to say that Meta and Apple are bad places to work, they just have fallen a little bit given how competitive the list is this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
What\u2019s more, Zhao says that both companies have been \u201cfacing challenges\u201d that could play a role in their nonappearance.<\/p>\n
Glassdoor analyzed anonymous reviews posted by employees on the platform to compile the list. Between October 19, 2021, and October 17, 2022, they considered “hundreds of thousands” of companies with 1,000 or more employees. The winners were ranked based on their overall Glassdoor rating on a 5-point scale, with 1.0 being extremely dissatisfied and 5.0 being extremely satisfied.<\/p>\n
Gainsight ranks first, Box ranks second, Bain & Company ranks third, McKinsey & Company ranks fourth, NVIDIA ranks fifth, MathWorks ranks sixth, Boston Consulting Group ranks seventh, Google ranks eighth, ServiceNow ranks ninth, and In-N-Out Burger ranks tenth.<\/p>\n
