LeCun slammed ChatGPT, calling it &#8220;basic&#8221; and implying that it only appears sophisticated.<\/p>\n<p data-ar-index=\"1\">LeCun noted that Chat GPT isn&#8217;t very advanced. He cited Meta, Google, and a slew of other startups that are making strides in this field, and he claims that they are advancing the technology in ways that Open AI simply isn&#8217;t. LeCun also mentioned how ChatGPT and the program on which it is based, OpenAI&#8217;s GPT-3, are made up of multiple pieces of technology developed over many years by many parties.<\/p>\n<p data-ar-index=\"2\">Another thing he mentioned was that Google literally built a fundamental aspect of Chat GPT, namely the neural nets known as transformers. Many companies and research labs have built data-driven AI systems in the past, according to LeCun.
