The University of Edinburgh’s faculty representation group issued a statement expressing dissatisfaction with the university as a result of its troublesome migration to the Oracle ERP Cloud and Oracle HCM Cloud platforms.<\/p>\n
As a result of the move, there were unpaid research students and suppliers, resulting in a payment backlog. The university’s Senate, which is made up of professors and students, noted the university administration had not answered critical issues concerning the payment backlog caused by the implementation.<\/p>\n
Despite the fact that HR operations were made available to all workers in November 2020, payroll and timesheets were not made available until April 2022. The institution’s financial administration was transferred to the new software in August 2022, resulting in a financial processing outage from July 22 to August 31. However, the launch was postponed.<\/p>\n
According to the Senate, the outage and changeover period caused a processing backlog, which was exacerbated by the demands of tough software paired with “inadequate training and support.” People and Money’s structure and vocabulary are tailored for people with financial knowledge, and many workers found it difficult to use.<\/p>\n
According to a university spokesman, they are making progress with the financial service but will continue to work on addressing difficulties and making improvements.<\/p>\n
