Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has warned employees who don’t want to return to the office that it’s “not going to work out for you.”<\/p>\n
Jassy made the comments during a meeting with employees earlier this month. He said that the company’s decision to require employees to return to the office was a “judgment call” and that employees can leave if they don’t want to comply.<\/p>\n
“It’s not right for all of our teammates to be in three days a week and for people to refuse to do so,” Jassy said. Jassy said he considers the return-to-office directive as a strategic choice. He acknowledged it as a “judgment call,” and while recognizing employees’ reservations, he emphasized that it was a critical step to solidify collaboration and innovation.<\/p>\n
Amazon has been cracking down on employees who refuse to return to the office. In July, the company reportedly sent warnings to workers about their in-person attendance.<\/p>\n
The company has also been forcing some employees to “voluntarily resign” if they don’t relocate to the in-person hubs where their teams work.<\/p>\n
