{"id":6646,"date":"2021-06-10T08:47:40","date_gmt":"2021-06-10T12:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technewsday.com\/?p=6646"},"modified":"2021-08-03T10:58:32","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T14:58:32","slug":"apples-passkeys-could-eliminate-the-use-of-passwords","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technewsday.com\/staging\/apples-passkeys-could-eliminate-the-use-of-passwords\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple&#8217;s Passkeys Could Eliminate The Use Of Passwords"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple is gearing up for a password-free future with a new iCloud keychain called &#8220;passkey,&#8221; which was unveiled at WWDC 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The company teased a new feature called &#8220;passkeys in iCloud keychain.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is provided for testing in iOS 15 and macOS Monterey<\/p>\n\n\n<p><span data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">This new technology will allow a user&#8217;s <\/span>iPhone, iPad or Mac to have passkeys.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>These passkeys will be synced across devices, which means that they can be recovered even if a user loses all their devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to conventional passkeys, these passkeys have a number of security advantages. They cannot be guessed and cannot be used for all services. They are also not vulnerable to phishing or data breaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once implemented, a user only needs to authenticate with Face ID to log in.
