The City of Tulsa issued warnings to residents after the Conti Ransomware gang claimed responsibility for a ransomware attack that led the city to shut down its network while releasing 18,938 of the city’s files, mostly police citations and internal Word documents.

After the leak, the city of Tulsa issued a news release warning that the leaked police citations revealed personal information while warning residents that their data may have been exposed.

The City asked “anyone who has filed a police report, received a police citation, made a payment with the City, or interacted with the City in any way where PII was shared” to be cautious and extra vigilant against actors who commit identity theft based on the information uncovered.
