Twitter Acquires Twitter Bot Threader For Twitter Blue

November 16, 2021

Twitter has acquired Threader in a deal that will see Threader shut down on December 15 while it is embedded in Twitter Blue.

With the feature now available as part of Twitter Blue, users will be able to turn long threads into an easier-to-read experience.

As part of the deal, Threader co-founder Marie Denis will move to Twitter, where she will continue to work on ways to make it easier for people to read threads.

Announcing the new development, the founders of Threader said: “Today, we are bringing this experience to Twitter. We are both proud of what we’ve achieved together, especially as an independent team of two. We’re excited to bring the Threader experience to millions of people on Twitter.”

For many, the Threader app has made it easier to compile and read tweets. All they have to do is tag Threader’s profile and type “compile” after which a bot compiles a series of tweets into an article-like form.
