Twitter CEO Faces Employee Anger Over Musk Attacks

May 2, 2022

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal faced waves of employee anger during a company-wide meeting where employees demanded answers to the mass exodus at Twitter prompted by Elon Musk.

Employees also told executives they feared Musk’s erratic behavior could destabilize Twitter’s business and hurt it financially.

The outburst came after Elon Musk criticized Twitter’s moderation practices and a top executive responsible for setting speech and safety policies.

Elon Musk’s statements have also indicated that there could be a change in the structure of Twitter that could ultimately affect some employees.

During the meeting, CEO Agrawal urged the workforce to expect a change in the future under new leadership and acknowledged that the company could have developed better over the years.

Despite the clarification, Twitter employees expressed little confidence in the executives’ statements.

“The PR speak is not landing. They told us don’t leak and do a job you are proud of, but there is no clear incentive for employees to do this,” said one Twitter employee.
