After the June 30 deadline set by the FCC, major voice service providers in the United States will roll out Stir/Shaken technology to end illegal robocalls that fraudsters use to defraud billions of dollars from Americans every year.

Stir/Shaken technology ensures that calls that go through telephone networks have a “signed” call identity that is confirmed by the original providers and validated by other providers before the calls reach users.

Although it is very hopeful that the Stir/Shaken tech will lead to a huge drop in robot calls, there are some signs that this may not be the case, as some airlines have already implemented the technology and also because fraudsters will always find new ways to make illegal robocalls.
