Webex Tests Out Limiting Length Of Participants Conversation

August 16, 2021 Cisco’s Webex is experimenting with giving meeting organizers the ability to limit the length of each attendee’s conversation.

Lorrissa Horton, vice president and general manager of Webex Calling and Strategy at Cisco, argued that the company had tested this because it was a huge social change.

Horton explained that at most regular update meetings, where everyone is supposed to have the same amount of time to talk, “many times certain people in that conversation never get a chance to speak or they’re given the last 10 seconds.”

Some may appreciate those ten seconds, because they really do not want everyone to know what they are doing, but many would like to be treated equally.

Cisco admits that the response to its experiment has not been universally laudable.
