What the New Microsoft Store Means For Businesses

September 28, 2021

The new Microsoft Store offers individuals a host of benefits that can help them and their businesses.

This would include supporting a wider range of application types and eliminating the requirement for apps to use Microsoft’s payment and subscription tools.

Microsoft also will not get a cut of transactions if payments are made outside its store, meaning that people will keep more of the money made from their app when they use proprietary or third-arty payment systems.

The new changes will allow customers to use their own content delivery network, as the new store needs is an endpoint URL and an installer that supports silent installations.

The store will also be expanded to make room for the addition of Windows applications built, with additional frameworks such as Win32, Java and .NET for loading without changing their creation processes.

It will also use the new Windows Package Manager compared to the previous Microsoft Stores for Business and for Education, now set to close in early 2023.
