Microsoft is adding a new “Voice Access” feature that allows users to control the operating system with their voice and a microphone.
The feature is available in the Windows 11 preview build 22528. With the new feature, users can now use the Voice Access feature to perform various tasks, including starting or closing applications, switching to the desktop, minimizing and maximizing windows, switching applications, selecting items, scrolling, editing text, and others.
Currently, the feature only supports the English-US language. It supports over 80 spoken commands and allows Windows 11 users to dictate and edit documents directly through their microphone.
For users who want to unveil this feature, they can do so by making sure they are running the latest Windows 11 preview. Once this is cleared, they can go to the settings and click on Accessibility then Speech page where they can enable it.
Once Windows 11 is enabled, users will be prompted to download a language pack that includes interactive instructions on how to use the feature.
