YouTube To Explore NFT Features For Creators

YouTube video creators may soon be able to capitalize on non-fungible tokens, as it is the latest tech giant to venture into this digital craze.

“We’re always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube,” wrote YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki in a letter outlining the company’s priorities for 2022.

Sales of NFTs reached $25 billion in 2021, according to data from market tracker DappRadar, although it is expected to grow more modestly this year.

A spokesperson for YouTube declined to give further details about the upcoming NFT features.
