Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Jobs Skyrocket in 2021

October 12, 2021

Postings for crypto and blockchain careers leaped 118% as of July 16, 2021, compared to last year, according to a new Indeed report that identified the rapid price gains of some of the known cryptocurrencies as one of the reasons for this sharp increase.

The report also revealed that “the industry is maturing,” thanks to the steady increase in crypto-job advertisements, which include not only the mining of digital coins or trading in various digital currencies, but also other areas such as finance, marketing, human resources and accounting.

Given that 44% of vacancies in crypto- and blockchain-focused software development are classified as remote, and research even classifies positions in software development as remote, there is clear evidence that the number of software developers in the cryptoworld will increase, as it gives employees the freedom from where they want to work.

The survey stated: “A frequent cryptocurrency selling point is that they’re borderless thanks to the decentralized blockchain ledger technology underlying them. That decentralization makes many crypto and blockchain jobs highly suitable for remote work and it could help draw software development workers seeking remote opportunities to the [crypto] industry.”
