Texas Residents Regret Plan That Raises Thermostat

Some Texas residents expressed regret at their decision to participate in the program, which allows companies to remotely adjust the temperature of their smart thermostats by a few degrees at high energy levels.

An energy company called CenterPoint Energy says it also conducts twice-yearly tests that raise the temperature of homes for three hours, the last of which took place last Wednesday.

As they filed their complaint via a Reddit thread, residents in the Houston area questioned the temperature changes and also disputed the likelihood that users will be automatically registered or register themselves without reading the details.
