Amazon Making POS System For Small Businesses

Amazon is developing a new type of point-of-sale system that can be sold to third-party sellers. It will handle both online and offline transactions and will also be linked to other services such as Prime and Flex.

Project Santos, an internal Amazon team, is leading the project.

Once launched, Amazon will be able to compete with Canada’s Shopify and U.S. payment giant PayPal, both of which already have POS systems for small businesses that went online during the pandemic to boost sales.
