China has banned government officials from using iPhones and other foreign-branded devices for work or bring them into the office, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The ban, which was reportedly issued in recent weeks, is part of China’s efforts to reduce its reliance on foreign technology and protect its data security.
The report did not name other phone makers besides Apple, but it is likely that the ban also applies to other foreign brands such as Samsung and Huawei.
